Leading up to the release of their debut album, I had the opportunity to shoot with Powell and Slade, the brother duo that combines to make "Blame the Blondes", a music collective comprised of the two. In addition to promoting the project, I'm proud to say I was able to provide the album's cover as well.
The aesthetic was grunge and street, very reminiscent of Nirvana and their look in the mid to late 90s with hints of Rob Zombie sprinkled in as well. Needless to say, it was one to remember for sure.
BLAME THE BLONDES

Powell and Slade provided me with a canvas and the city served as an accessory. From the graffiti to the random security camera provided as a prop, this project perfectly captures the raw grittiness of Alabama's aptly titled "Iron City". But would you expect anything less from "southside's best & brightest?"

The album released on March 27th, so please do yourself a favor and get hipped. Stream "Lovely Woman" wherever it is you get your music from and get a dose of color (no pun intended of course) courtesy of Birmingham's best kept secret.
