2025

In June of 2025, I spent two weeks in Bradenton FL, just 20 minutes outside of Sarasota. While there, I had a chance to speak to a few of the locals, just trying to figure out what the "happening" places were and what there was to do for fun. There was one place that everyone told me I NEEDED to check out before I left and that was the Palma Sola Botanical Park.

On my last day in my last hour before heading back to Alabama, I packed all my things, grabbed my camera, and headed there. Immediately upon walking in, I was met with the smell of fresh air and vegetation. Green trees and orange hues, flowers all over. Sculptures and art pieces, it was an outdoorsy paradise (or the closest thing to it I'd imagine).

As I walked thru the park, the sound of shells being crunched under my feet, I found myself getting more and more lost in what I was seeing and hearing. Birds chirping, bees buzzing in my ear. It was almost hypnotic, but in the best kind of way.

Any nature enthusiast or lover of all things water would instantly fall in love with this place. I'll admit, the trail wasn't long (or maybe it just didn't feel like it because I was so enthralled with all the sights), but it was so much to see in such a small walk that I couldn't walk thru without stopping and seeing everything inside those gates. I highly recommend anyone in or around Manatee County give this place a thorough look.
